Google rolled out Android 15 back in September 2024. Other brands like OnePlus and Pixels wasted no time jumping on the bandwagon, leaving Samsung fumbling about in the dark.
For years, Samsung had been the golden child, known for quickly adopting new Android updates. It released its first Android 14 update less than a month after Google. But alas, those days are but a distant memory now.
This year, Samsung's grand tradition of prompt updates hit a snag. The first beta update for Galaxy S24 didn't crawl out of its cave until December. Only months later did Samsung decide to expand its beta program to more devices. It’s like watching paint dry, only less exciting.
Despite launching One UI 7 on the Galaxy S25 series and the latest Galaxy A devices, Samsung remained eerily silent about the wider rollout. Users' frustration and anticipation have reached a fever pitch. But Samsung, in their infinite wisdom, has finally graced us with a release date for One UI 7 with Android 15, starting in April, six months after the initial release.
One UI 7 is indeed a significant update, so naturally, the delay was inevitable but six months is a tad on the long side.
