Lenovo’s new Android tablet might not be a game changer, but it is a welcome concept nonetheless.
Unlike most Android tabs out there, the new IdeaTab S2109 features a 9.7-inch 1024x768 IPS display, four SRS surround speakers. Although a 16:9 screen might have been a better choice for video, it really steals the show when it comes to audio, as even the most expensive tablets out there tend to feature mono speakers.

The new IdeaTab is powered by TI’s OMAP 4430 SoC of Nexus Galaxy fame and it has 1GB of memory. The operating system of choice is Android 4.0. It features a microSD slot, micro HDMI and a 1.3-megapixel front facing camera. At 1.27lbs it is one of the lightest 9.7-inch tablets on the market and it is pretty thin as well.
Lenovo’s new IdeaPad should hit retail in June at $349. No word on EU pricing yet, but let’s take a wild stab in the dark and say it will cost €349.
