$199 Wii now official

New game launch dates announced
Nintendo has officially confirmed the long rumoured Wii price cut.
As Engadget found out yesterday, the $50 price cut to $199 will become effective Sunday, September 27. Of course, this is the standard Wii bundle with Wii Sports, nunchuk and a Wiimote, so you'll still have to cough up $50 more for an additional pair of controllers.
In addition to the price cut, Nintendo announced launch dates for New Super Mario Bros, slated for release on November 15, and Wii Fit Plus, scheduled for October 4.
Microsoft has recently announced a $50 mail-in rebate for the Xbox 360, so the two consoles should end up evenly matched.
