Lenovo said:"The breakthrough advanced Dynamic Solar Tracking system constantly measures the solar panel’s current and voltage, working with the Solar-First Energy system to automatically adjust the charger’s settings to prioritise sending the harvested energy to the system, helping to ensure maximum energy-savings and system stability no matter the intensity of the light. Even in low-light conditions, the panel can still generate power, sustaining battery charge when the PC is idling."
This means that if your battery is running low, all you need to do is ly step outside into the blazing sun, and in just 20 minutes, you'll have enough juice for an hour of 1080p video playback.
Of course, this does not apply to people in the UK who lack "uninterrupted exposure to the sun" or ginger-haired people in Scotland, for whom it might be positively dangerous.
Lenovo boasts that the solar panel achieves a conversion rate of over 24 per cent, thanks to its "Back Contact Cell" technology, which "moves mounting brackets and gridlines to the back of the solar cells, maximising the active absorption."
The laptop is powered by an Intel Core Ultra processor, has 32GB of RAM, 1TB of storage, and a 14-inch OLED display.
Not stopping at solar gimmickry, Lenovo also introduced the ThinkBook "Codename Flip" AI PC Concept. This device features an 18.1-inch outward-folding OLED display that transitions from a compact 13-inch laptop to a vertically expanded workspace. Nothing says "practical", like a laptop that unfolds into a screen taller than a toddler.
- The ThinkBook Flip offers multiple modes:
- Tablet Mode: 12.9 inches, 16:10 aspect ratio
- Read Mode: 12.8 inches, 16:10 aspect ratio
- Clamshell Mode: 13.1 inches, 16:10 aspect ratio
- Share Mode: 13.1-inch and 12.9-inch outward-facing screens, dual 16:10 aspect ratio
- Vertical Mode: 18.1 inches, 3:4 aspect ratio
Under the hood, it packs an Intel Core Ultra 7 processor, 32GB of LPDDR5x RAM, and PCIe SSD storage.
Of course, it wouldn't be a tech conference without the liberal sprinkling of "AI" across every product description. Lenovo's new devices integrate AI-driven computing, flexible form factors, and enterprise security solutions to meet the evolving demands of professionals and hybrid workers.
