U.S. tech companies are likely to see some technology aid
shunted their way including $650 million which has been sent to salvage the
government's troubled effort to ease the transition to digital-television
broadcasts.
More than $20 billion has been allocated by US
politicians for IT spending in the health information technology.
President-elect Barack Obama has said he wanted to include long-term investment
in health IT as part of the stimulus package. In addition to medical systems, organizations will
likely purchase new computers and additional software.
Other stimulus proposals include $2 billion for schools
and government agencies to buy computer hardware and software and $6 billion to
promote deployment of high-speed Internet access in unserved and underserved
areas.
Either way it looks like the technology industry could
clean up.
