Jobs' mob is looking for 500 people more people in Ireland to increase the numbers of staff working at its European headquarters.

The HQ is based in the southern city of Cork and they will be recruited over the next 18 months from 2,800 at present. A company spokesman said that the jobs would "support our growing business across Europe," but he did not say what kind of jobs would be created. Currently Cork provides distribution, supply chain management and back office functions.

It is good news for Ireland in that there will be 500 people working rather than staying at home collecting the dole.  So far it has been  Dublin which has succeeded in attracting Google and Facebook to increase their staff.  Ireland does quite well thanks to its low corporate tax rates and educated, English-speaking workforce within the eurozone.  Guinness and magic from leprechauns also helps, but is not as reliable.
