PCI SIG confirms

 
PCI-SIG, an authoring body of the PCIe specification, have confirmed that there is a draft for PCIe 3.0.

Intel, Nvidia, ATI and AMD are just preparing to move to PCIe 2.0 but by 2010 so in roughly two+ years the PCI-SIG has a plan to introduce PCIe 3.0 specification.

We know that the new PCIe 3.0 will be a protocol expansion and that it will bring some new things about I/O virtualization and of course this will be the way to make the 300 Watt graphics card work on the next generation PCIe 3.0 motherboards and slots.

We might learn more about this on IDF, Intel show that starts on the 18th of September.
