The lineup blends Zen 5 and Zen 4 architectures with AMD Pro technologies, which bundle in security, manageability and stability features designed to make IT departments’ lives a little easier. AMD’s pitch is that firms can get secure, reliable systems that simplify fleet management while keeping costs under control.

The Ryzen Pro 9000 series brings Zen 5 to business desktops, led by the Ryzen 9 Pro 9945. It packs 12 cores, 24 threads, a boost clock of up to 5.4 GHz, integrated Radeon graphics, and a 65W thermal design power. It comes bundled with AMD’s Wraith Stealth cooler. Below that sit the Ryzen 7 Pro 9745 with eight cores and the Ryzen 5 Pro 9645 with six, both have Radeon graphics and the same 65W envelope.

The Ryzen Pro 7000 family relies on Zen 4. The Ryzen 7 Pro 8700GE is claimed to use up to 76 per cent less power than Intel’s Core i7 14700, while the 8700G is said to deliver up to 47 per cent higher performance in some workloads. AMD’s benchmark numbers show the Ryzen 9 Pro 9945 outperforming the Core i7 14700 in Blender, PassMark and CineBench by margins between 18 and 44 per cent.

Every new Ryzen Pro chip includes a dedicated AI engine. AMD says this is meant to speed up everything from office productivity and video calls to 3D rendering and content creation. With up to 12 cores, integrated RDNA 3 graphics and DDR5 support, the company insists users can “work, create and collaborate without interruptions.”

Energy efficiency is another major theme. By running cooler and quieter, the chips are supposed to cut office noise and lower energy bills. AMD is clearly hoping this appeals to businesses balancing performance targets with sustainability goals.

Security and fleet control come from AMD Pro technologies. Hardware-level protections are built in to safeguard corporate data, and IT admins get tools to update and lock down systems remotely. AMD says this will make large-scale rollouts easier and more secure.

OEM partners are already rolling out machines. Lenovo’s ThinkCentre M75T desktops are among the first to use the new chips. Case studies include Hiroshima Transportation Company, which upgraded to Lenovo boxes with Ryzen Pro to cut costs, and Higginbotham, an insurance broker that shrank its hardware footprint without losing performance.

Beyond the Pro models, AMD also listed the wider Ryzen 9000 range, with consumer parts such as the Ryzen 9 9950X3D and 9950X topping out at 16 cores and 32 threads with TDPs as high as 170W. Those don’t include coolers and are clearly aimed at very different markets.

The new Ryzen Pro processors are already available through OEMs and system builders. AMD is flogging them as the right balance of AI capability, manageability and energy efficiency for enterprises looking to modernise their fleets and refresh desktops at scale.
