Designed for AI applications and cloud

MSI has unveiled a new range of high-performance server platforms powered by the latest Intel Xeon 6 family of processors, which it claims will provide unprecedented computing power and energy efficiency for modern data centres.

The new servers, designed for AI-driven applications and cloud workloads are being touted as reducing the total cost of ownership (TCO) for businesses.

MSI Enterprise Platform Solutions General Manager Danny Hsu said that as data-driven transformation accelerates across industries, businesses require solutions that not only deliver performance but also enable sustainable growth and operational agility.

"Our Intel Xeon 6 processor-based servers are designed to support this shift by offering high-core scalability, energy-efficient performance, and dynamic workload optimisation."

MSI’s latest enterprise servers—the CX170-S5062, CX270-S5062, and CX271-S3066—are built on the OCP Datacenter Modular Hardware System (DC-MHS) architecture . These servers support Intel Xeon 6500/6700 series processors with up to 350W TDP, delivering high-density performance tailored for demanding data center workloads.

  • CX170-S5062: A compact 1U dual-socket server for high-density environments, featuring 32 DDR5 DIMM slots and up to 12 U.2 NVMe bays for scalable storage.
  • CX270-S5062: A larger 2U model supporting 32 DDR5 DIMM slots, 24 U.2 NVMe bays, and high-performance accelerators for AI and HPC workloads.
  • CX271-S3066: A 2U single-socket server optimised for PCIe bandwidth, offering up to 136 PCIe lanes, 16 DDR5 DIMM slots, and support for AI inference and cloud-native applications.

MSI’s CD270-S3061-X4 and CD270-S3061-X2 multi-node servers prioritise compute density and thermal efficiency in a 2U chassis. These systems use Intel Xeon 6500/6700 series processors and innovative Extended Volume Air Cooler (EVAC) heatsinks to maintain optimal performance in high-density environments.

  • CD270-S3061-X4: A 4-node, density-optimised server with 16 DDR5 DIMM slots per node, ideal for large-scale cloud and compute applications.
  • CD270-S3061-X2: A 2-node airflow-optimised variant that balances compute performance with storage flexibility, featuring PCIe 5.0 expansion and support for up to 8 E1.S drives.
