by on30 January 2025

Coming in 750W, 850W, and 1,000W outputs

be quiet!, a well-known German manufacturer of premium PC components, has unveiled its latest Power Zone 2 power supply series. As a successor of the popular Power Zone series, the new Power Zone 2 uses 140mm fan, and is actually the first be quiet! PSU series to feature semi-passive cooling with post-ventilation and a Cybenetics Platinum rating.

Coming in 750W, 850W, and 1,000W versions, the new be quiet! Power Zone 2 PSU series is the direct successor of the original Power Zone that was launched back in 2013. Featuring a single-rail design, the Power Zone 2 PSU series comes with several improvements, including semi-passive cooling, which does not spin the fan until a certain load or temperature is reached. The modified Pure Wings 3 140mm fan has a relatively flat start-up curve, which should avoid sudden noise changes, and its large fan diameter should provide good cooling efficiency in high-load scenarios.

The entire series is ATX 3.1 compatible and features both native integration of the 12V-2x6 600 W connector for next-generation PCIe 5.1 graphics cards, and 3 PCIe 6+2-pin connectors for support of current-gen GPUs. It also comes with a 90° angled connector for the 12V-2x6 cable, as well as a fully modular design with black, flat cable. As said earlier, it also comes with Cybenetics Platinum and 80 Plus Platinum ratings, which means it has a high efficiency of up to 94 percent. The topology is based on a half-bridge LLC with synchronous rectification and DC/DC conversion and features one massive high-performance 12 V-rail.

Retail availability of Power Zone 2 is scheduled for February 11, at a recommended retail price of $189.90/€189.90/£179.99 (1000 W), $169.90/€169.90/£159.99 (850 W), or $149.90/€149.90/£139.99 (750 W).
