Atom 200 single-core and Atom dual-core 300 series are currently the dominant force in the Atom market. In current Q3 2009, the quarter that should end with the last day of this month, Atom 200 / 300 series are taking up 15 percent of overall consumer CPU market shipments.
In upcoming Q4 2009, Atom 200 / 300 series should drop to 9
percent but Atom 400 single-core and 500 dual-core should increase its market
share from 0 in Q3 2009 to 8 in Q4 2009.
The Q1 2010, Atom 200 / 300 series will dramatically drop
all the way to 0 percent while the new Atom will increase its market share to
19 percent.
This also means that in Q4 2009 market share will increase
to 17 percent of total Consumer desktop CPUs shipped and in Q1 2010 will
increase to saucy 19 percent. Celeron is more than threatened by the Atom
generation.
