Havendale delayed to 2010

Other Nehalem chips still on track
According to what is a leaked Intel slide (we've confirmed it's real), Intel has made some changes to its launch schedule for the Havendale CPUs based on customer feedback. If this is indeed the case, then we're looking for an early 2010 introduction of the Havendale CPUs with integrated graphics.
This might not be a major issue for most people, especially as the Lynnfield processor is still on track for a release towards the end of 2009. Intel has already booted silicon based on this core using both Windows and Linux. The only thing that looks a little bit worrying is a mention of simplified base platform functionality, which we're not sure what it means, but it doesn't sound good.
Another interesting snippet is that Intel is considering adjusting the Sandy Bridge (the 32nm Nehalem cores) schedule to ensure sufficient Nehalem lifecycle, whatever that is meant to mean. The move of the Havendale core also affects the mobile Auburndale, so in other words, there won't be any Nehalem based notebooks with integrated graphics in 2009. Clarksfield is still on schedule though, as it shares design with Lynnfield.
Finally it looks like Intel might considering adding new processors and/or chipsets to the current Core 2 family in 2009, if it sees a need for this and apparently they'll update its partners sometime in Q4 this year with regards to this happening or not.
