With 256GB HBM3E memory and 2.6 PFLOPs of FP8 compute performance

At its Advancing AI event, AMD announced its newest Instinct MI300X series accelerator, the Instinct MI325X. The new AI accelerator is based on CDNA 3 architecture, packs 153 billion transistors, comes with 256GB of HBM3E memory on 16-Hi stacks with up to 6TB/s of memory bandwidth, and offering 2.6 PFLOPs or FP8 and 1.3 PFLOPs of FP16 performance.

It appears that the situation in the mid-range graphics card market is heating up with the Radeon RX 7700 now available for as low as $349.99, and it even includes two free games worth $60, Warhammer 40000: Space Marine II, and Unknown 9 Awakening.

XFX and other partners drop the price

AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT has finally dropped down to $659.99 in the US, which is a significant price drop considering that the same graphics card has been holding the price pretty well.

AMD Fluid Motion Frames 2 now part of the driver

AMD has released its latest Radeon Software Adrenalin 24.9.1 WHQL driver update, bringing support for new games, as well as adding AMD Fluid Motion Frames 2 (AFMF 2), Anti-Lag 2 Vulkan support, and other updates to the driver. The new driver also fixes several issues in some games and applications.

Ranging from $699 to $199

Most AMD motherboard partners, including Asus, ASRock, Gigabyte, MSI, and others, have already announced their X870E and X870 motherboards, and now, these are finally available in all major retail/e-tail shops. In case you missed it, these support the latest AMD Ryzen 9000 series, as well as previous Ryzen 8000 and Ryzen 7000 series CPUs, and are aimed at enthusiasts bringing better VRM, WiFi 7, and USB 4 support.
