Nvidia’s RTX 50 launch didn’t exactly win hearts, with high-end models bogged down by nagging inventory problems. But the GPU giant could be prepping a comeback with a fresh round of RTX 50 SUPER cards, reportedly due before the end of 2025.
Word from TweakTown suggests that Nvidia is lining up the RTX 50 SUPER refresh for a Q4 2025 drop, aiming to cash in on the holiday shopping spree and the beginning of a new consumer upgrade cycle.
There were earlier whispers of a CES 2026 reveal, pushing the launch into early next year. But trhe rumours now claim the new SUPER models are tracking for a festive release instead.
As always, the usual health warning applies. Nvidia’s roadmap is about as flexible as a Trump's tariff plans. The RTX 40 SUPER line did show up in January, bucking expectations, and this wouldn’t be the first time schedules have been shuffled.
What we do know is that two cards are in the pipeline: the RTX 5080 SUPER, reportedly packing 24 GB of VRAM, and the RTX 5070 Ti SUPER with 18 GB. These would use 3 GB GDDR7 modules to hit those capacities, making VRAM the star of the show rather than any major architectural leap.
Traditionally, the SUPER branding hasn’t meant massive spec changes, and this refresh looks to be following that script. With the Blackwell generation's debut models mostly out, Nvidia might use the SUPER line to plug the performance and pricing gaps unless it slips out a low-end card in the meantime.
If these cards do drop in Q4, expect shelves to get a little more crowded just as shoppers start thinking about Christmas.
