The new Batman game that is supposed to launch Tuesday will feature some serious PhysX support. We were lucky enough to get a cool demo from Mr Drew Henry, the guy that runs graphics for Nvidia these days.
Batman: Arkham Asylum
gameplay shown to us the other day at Nvidia’s headquarters really looks impressive. The
graphics are definitely among the best we’ve seen so far and PhysX effects are something that will probably make many gamers to go back to the
basics and return to the PC.
The console version of
the game is already out but it cannot have serious PhysX as the one we’ve seen
with the PC game, and we’ve seen many rigid bodies and bricks falling from the
walls and interacting with each other.
Nvidia can also
accelerate particles and cloth, making the Caped Crusader look a lot more realistic. The new Batman game
might be the first serious title to get PhysX, with a big promise that more
cool games are in the pipe. At least now, a year and a half after the Ageia acquisition, PhysX is finally coming to games.
