Although there are still some big questions to be answered, AMD's Dr. Lisa Su did say that AMD will "go beyond building custom chips for Xbox consoles to designing a full roadmap of gaming optimized chips. Combining the power of Ryzen and Radeon for consoles, handhelds, PCs, and the cloud. And we're doing it all with backwards compatibility, so gamers can access their favorite titles across platforms, delivering on a promise to both gamers and developers."
The first products of this partnership are the recently announced ASUS ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X handhelds, both rumored to be coming in October. What makes these announcements even more interesting is that AMD and Microsoft are moving to build a complete ecosystem, including the Xbox cloud.
Hopefully, we'll hear more details as we move closer to the end of the year.
