The Glorious Model O Eternal is now available in every major market except the US, with the company blaming what it calls “ongoing global supply chain issues.” Quite why a so-called global hiccup only affects a single country isn’t clear. A more plausible explanation might involve tariffs and the kind of bureaucratic hoop-jumping that tends to spook US-based outfits.
According to Glorious, the Model O Eternal “fuses the iconic shape and lightweight hexagon design of the Model O V1 with upgraded tech and bolder, brighter RGB lighting to bring the durability and aesthetics of high-end mice to the market at a price for everyone.”
It boasts a featherweight 55 g chassis thanks to its honeycomb shell, shaving 20 per cent off the original Model O’s weight. Glorious also reckons it’s 35 per cent lighter than the competition but conveniently fails to name names.
Glorious promises a “glowing and radiant RGB” that “bathes the insides of the Model O Eternal in eternally bright RGB hues, while casting up to 16.8 million colours across gamers desktops.”
Under the bonnet, there are mechanical switches rated for 80 million clicks and an optical sensor with 12,000 DPI sensitivity. The Glorious CORE app lets users fiddle with RGB and DPI settings until their heart’s content.
Rounding things off, the Eternal features a 1,000 Hz polling rate, six programmable buttons, a scroll wheel and a two-metre USB cable. It’s available in black or white for €34.99 in Europe (about £30).
Stateside gamers will have to wait until sometime in late Q3, which is corporate speak for September. Glorious promises availability updates via its website, but anyone desperate can always ask a mate in Europe.
