We have learned that Nintendo is likely to finally fill in the major blanks concerning their upcoming release of the Wii U at a major Press Conference in New York City that the company has scheduled for September 13th. Invites were sent to major media outlets, and as is the norm, we were apparently left off the guest list.

It is expected that Nintendo will confirm that launch plans for North America as well as the pricing for the Wii U console (which as of right now remains a mystery and has been the subject of much speculation). In addition to the date and price, we expect that we will get the word on the final software launch lineup for the Wii U.

Our sources seem to think the first wave of Wii U units will hit North American retail shelves by Black Friday, but that is still speculation. With the continued rumors that we are hearing of production problems for the Wii U, the bigger question might be, “How many units do you actually think will be available for purchase in North America between launch day and Christmas?” I know that is the question we will want to ask.
