Nintendo is planning to release a Pikachu-themed 3DS XL console in September for the Japanese market only. It will only be available to those that pre-order the console during the limited pre-order window between August 25th and September 14th at Pokémon Centers.

The Pikachu-themed version will have a yellow exterior and a white interior with Pikachu on the top. Once Japanese fans place their pre-order for the console, they will be able to pick it up on September 15th.

Currently, there is no word if the console will be available outside of Japan. Should it prove very popular, it is possible (according to our sources) that Nintendo could elect to release it in the North American and European markets, but currently there are no plans to do so.
