Stellantis' infuriates Jeep owners with full-screen ads

by on11 February 2025

Every time you stop

In a dystopian nightmare invented by advertisers and marketeers,  Stellantis, the automotive giant behind Jeep, Dodge, Chrysler, and Ram, has introduced full-screen pop-up ads on its infotainment systems.

Apparently, it is not enough to have paid a fortune for a Jeep which has not evolved much since the 1950s, you have to sit through advertisements everytime you stop.

According to one driver: “In-dash advertising is here and Stellantis, the parent company of Jeep, Dodge, Chrysler, and Ram, beat everyone to further enshittification."

Jeep owners have found themselves caught in the crossfire, subjected to relentless advertisements for Mopar's extended warranty service every time their vehicle comes to a halt.

So if you have pulled up to a red light, your GPS in full swing guiding you to your destination – an ad hijacks your screen.

One infuriated Jeep 4xe owner took to an online forum to vent their frustration, painting a vivid picture of how these intrusive pop-ups are wreaking havoc on their driving experience.

Stellantis, in what can only be described as a lacklustre response, confirmed through their "JeepCares" representative that these ads are part of a contractual agreement with SiriusXM. The company's solution? Simply tap the "X" to dismiss them.

While Stellantis claims they are working on reducing the frequency of these maddening interruptions, the damage to customer trust may already be irreparable.
