MSI has confirmed it will launch 15- and 17-inch notebooks based on Intel's upcoming Core i7 720M, 820M and 920XM parts. The new notebooks should appear just in time for Windows 7, but don't expect them to be cheap or light, as mobile Core i7 processors will be quite pricey, and their TDP is 45W to 55W.

In related news, MSI has confirmed plans to revamp the X-Slim X400 and X600. The new models, dubbed X420 and X620, will feature Intel's new Core 2 Duo SU4100 and SU7300 chips, and they will ship with Windows 7. The AMD Neo-based X410 and X610 should start to appear in retail pretty soon.

The best thing about the new models is that they won't cost much more than the SU3500-based X400 and X600. On top of that, Windows 7 is a bit less resource intensive than Vista, so performance should be quite a bit better.
