Acer to release Aspire One D250 with 720p display

1280x720p HD replaces 1024x600 WSVGA
Acer has recently announced that it will produce one last revision of its Aspire One D250 netbook before Intel’s upcoming Pine Trail-M platform makes its way onto store shelves in Q1 2010.
The netbook will maintain all of its current specs, with the only significant difference on the new model being a 720p HD screen resolution of 1280x720 as opposed to 1024x600 WSVGA. The new model will maintain a 1.33kg lightweight design, a single-core Atom N270 1.60GHz, 1GB of DDR2 533MHz, 160GB 2.5-inch SATA II drive, SD card reader, Intel 802.11b/g Wi-Fi, a webcam, and a 6-cell battery.
Unfortunately, the new machines will still be loaded with Windows XP SP3, but Windows 7 runs just fine with full Aero transparency, although best with a 2GB stick of memory.
Apparently, the device is already available for pre-order in Norway with a released date scheduled July 30, 2009. The listing can be found here.
