Teradata goes green with new server

New server uses 75% less electricity
Teradata has developed a new server that saves up to 75% electricity over Teradata servers developed just several years ago. The Teradata 5500 server is said to also be able to co-exist with other generations of Teradata servers, great news for companies who already have earlier server versions.
Besides saving power, the 5500 Teradata server only requires 60% of the floor space required by earlier server versions, which also translates into significantly reduced cooling expenses and other energy costs. Teradata is a division of NCR Corporation.
