Western Digital has finally managed to squeeze 750GB into a 9.5mm housing or to be precise a standard 2.5-inch HDD. Bear in mind that WD released a 2.5-inch 750 and even 1TB 2.5-inch drives a while back, but both of them are 12.5mm thick. Basically, that is simply too thick for nearly all notebooks on the market.
The new Scorpio Blue 750GB 2.5-inch HDD uses dual 375GB platters, spins at 5400RPM and has 8MB of cache. It features a standard SATA 3.0Gbps interface and has WD's Advanced Format technology, as well as the ShockGuard and WhisperDrive technologies meant for increased reliability and reduced noise.
The new Scorpio Blue is backed by a three year warranty and the suggested price tag is US $149.
