It’s official – Xbox Live for mobile phones is on its way. The service will be called Xbox Live Games and should run on Windows Mobile based phones.

Unfortunately, the official proof says very little else except for claiming Windows-based phone support but strangely enough, no other device has been mentioned, not even Zune which is more than strange. Although the proof never states that the service will be exclusive to Windows-based phones, it does fail to list any other solutions.

Such a move would mean that Microsoft has willingly opted on locking out the competing phones, thus locking out the company’s potential profit – something  we’re pretty confident Microsoft would never do.

Be it as it may, we should know more soon enough.
