MSI is telling the world that it expects it notebook shipments will grow more than 50% on year in 2010, while its all-in-one PCs will also see 50-100% growth.

Chairman Joseph Hsu said that his outfit's notebook shipments were impacted seriously by inventory problems in the first half of 2009 but it made an aggressive catch-up in the second half. The company's branded notebook shipments were also higher than those in 2008, he said.

MSI plans to offer more notebook models with different specifications since the outfit can't manage significant shipment volumes by offering only a few models. MSI shipped a total of 200,000-300,000 all-in-one PCs worldwide in 2009, but shortages of components such as panels, hard drives, DRAM and GPUs will create a potential impact on the company's PC shipment schedule as well as pricing, Hsu said.

The company was showing off a 3D all-in-one PC at CES 2010 and plans to launch a 3D notebook in the future priced at about US$1,000.
