Last week, we witnessed the leak of Windows 7 build 7137 (7137.0.090521-1745) compiled on May 21st, and
a confirmation that Microsoft is still on target to finalize Windows 7
over the summer with a general availability on October 22nd.
If you enjoy keeping up with the latest Windows 7 builds as we
do, (I still run XP. sub.ed.) the software engineers at Redmond have just released build 7201 (7201.0.090601-2255) compiled just a
few days ago on June 1st. Many people are referring to the 720x builds as
Release Candidate 2, and to be honest we were not expecting one this soon.
It was previously rumored that Microsoft was not planning a
second release candidate before the final RTM ships out in July. Last week, however,
Russian website Wzor put out some information that RC2 build 7200 is already
compiled at Microsoft lab and is already signed off and made available to
Microsoft TAP partners, MSDN subscribers and Connect users. It is reported to
be available on June 11th and below is a screenshot by Wzor confirming its
existence.
On day zero of Computex not too many hours ago, two videos
were leaked on YouTube confirming that a build 7224 is in existence. They can

Microsoft is in control of its development cycle and we are impressed at the optimistic progression that this OS has been getting. Even though Wzor has been a highly accurate source for the latest Windows 7 leaks, we suggest the above information to be rumor material until an official announcement from the Windows 7 engineering team is made.
