OCZ Technology has released yet another product in its NAND flash storage line, the Slate series ExpressCards.
These "cards" will be available in 8, 16 and 32GB capacities and are aimed at notebooks which feature an ExpressCard slot. According to the specifications, these ExpreesCards should offer read/write speeds of 18M/12.5 MB/s and come with a mini USB port that can be used for for external connection if you need to transfer data from another device that doesn't have an Expresscard slot.
Unfortunately, very few netbooks feature an ExpressCard slot, and these machines would stand to benefit the most from additional storage in such a package.
The Slate series is compatible with all ExpressCard standards, and comes backed by a 2-year warranty. Unfortunately, the price and the availability date is still unknown.
