Shuttle has announced a new addition to its P35-based XPC barebone lineup, the XPC SP35P2. Unlike previously announced SP35P2 Pro, Shuttle decided to ditch some features like a fingerprint scanner and USB Speed-link, thus lowering the price without affecting the performance.
The new SP35P2 is still based on Intel's P35 Express and ICH9R and comes with support for Intel socket 775 Celeron, Pentium 4/D and Core 2 Duo/Quad-core processors with up to FSB 1333. It can take up to 8GB of DDR2-800 (OC DDR2-1066), has a single PCI-Express x16 and one PCI slot. Other noted specifications include eight USB 2.0 ports, two eSATA, two FireWire, four internal SATA2, one IDE port, Gigabit LAN, 8-channel audio, dual heatpipe cooling system and a 400W 80 PLUS power supply.
The new Shuttle XPC Barebone SP35P2 should be available immediately with a suggested price set at €319. Just for reference, the older SP35P2 Pro has a suggested retail price of €391.
