DDR3 is all about higher frequencies. We already wrote about OCZ's announcement of modules that work at 1,333MHz, and we will certainly see 1,600MHz and higher pretty soon.

An overclocker that goes under the name "david" has been able to get a 1GB DDR3-1333 module from Micron all the way to 2,200 MHz, which is by the way a new world record, and the true face of DDR3.

The motherboard used is Gigabyte's P35 chipset based, P35T-DQ6. You can check out a bigger picture and verifed results on x86-secret.com. Now lets get back to the memory, it's Micron manufactured, single channel module with 10-10-10-24 latencies. The processor was a Core 2 Duo E6850 overclocked from 3.00GHz to 3.89GHz with a 550MHz processor bus.

We're very likely to see more of these speeds as soon as DDR3 gets on its feet.
