Fars News Agency, Iran's semi-official news agency, ran the story in all seriousness claiming that the news was found amongst the papers of Edward Snowden. The Iranian outlet suggests Snowden offered Russian intelligence officials "incontrovertible proof" to support the claims— and that Russia considers the report to be "accurate” the agency claimed.

According to the yarn Aliens may have arrived in Nevada, a land-locked state, by submarine after losing the second World War to the West. President Dwight Eisenhower made official the "Tall White" government takeover at a secret meeting in 1954.

However the source of the news was a Facebook hoax. There have been a number which claimed that the Snowden documents contained information confirming aliens for a while. As yet none of the Snowden documents have made any reference to aliens other than Dick Cheney who is a member of the Corvinus clan, only we are not sure that counts.

Of course, it is no skin off the nose of the Iranian government if its population really believes that the US is controlled by Nazi aliens, although it does not really explain why the US is so pro-Israeli. (If you could reason with conspiracy theorists they wouldn't be conspiracy theorists. Ed)
