Google, Inc. has reached an agreement with Seth MacFarlane, the creator of the ‘Family Guy’ cartoon series, to create an original new animated series to be distributed over the Web.  The program will be known as ‘Seth MacFarlane’s Cavalcade of Cartoon Comedy,’ and will be distributed to thousands of MacFarlane-friendly Web sites via Google’s AdSense advertising system.

Advertising will be incorporated into the distribution by preroll advertising, banner ads or “sponsored by” ads, and MacFarlane is also said to be working with other advertisers to create original ad content to run along with the Cavalcade content.  MacFarlane will receive a percentage of the ad revenue.

MacFarlane reportedly told the New York Times that the content of Cavalcade will consist of animated one-frame type cartoons, similar to those published in The New Yorker, but “edgier.”
