LCD panel price drop expected

30-45 percent annually
Analysts over at DisplaySearch are quite confident that the average selling price of LCD monitors will drop at a 30 to 45 percent annual rate during June and July of 2008. They're expecting the trend to slow down later in the year.
Monitor shipments jumped unexpectedly in Q1, while demand for desktops dropped in developed markets. Prices of desktop monitors have thus dropped, taking the average selling price down with them.
DisplaySearch is also expecting some shakeups in TV panel pricing, as the prices of 32-inch models aren't getting lower, while the larger models are closing in fast.
