United to offer iPod & iPhone connectivity

Only for First Class and Business Class passengers
United Airlines announced that it will be the first U.S. carrier to offer in-flight connectivity for Apple’s iPod and iPhone that will allow those in Frst Class and Business Class to enjoy the output from their iPods on a 15.4-inch display while their iPod/iPhone is charged.
The iPod/iPhone connectivity will be available first on United flight #936 that flies between Washington, D.C. and Zurich. United says, however, that they plan to make this a standard feature in First Class and Business Class flights over the next two years during the routine retrofit of their entire fleet of international wide body aircraft.
The technology to connect the iPod/iPhone to the aircraft was developed by Panasonic Avionics Corporation.
