As we suspected in one of our stories last week, Lenovo and Fujitsu have announced that they will use Intel’s new mobile Core2Duo chip that they developed for Apple for use in the MacBook Air.

It comes as no surprise that based on the early reception of the MacBook Air notebook makers are going to follow Apple’s lead in designing thinner, lighter and more powerful portable notebooks. Lenovo expects to incorporate this technology into their ThinkPad line and Fujitsu will incorporate it into their LifeBook product line.

It will be interesting to see what Lenovo and Fujitsu can come up with and what features they will adopt from the MacBook Air.
