by on02 December 2025

Rising memory cost raises pricing on other models

Raspberry Pi has launched the new budget-oriented Raspberry Pi 5 1GB model, pricing it at $45. It has also raised the prices of other models due to the rising memory costs.

The new Raspberry Pi 5 1GB keeps the same specifications, including the quad-core 2.4 GHz Cortex-A76 CPU, but comes with 1GB of LPDDR4 memory in order to keep the price down. Raspberry Pi is keeping it at $5 below the original price of the Raspberry Pi 5 2GB, which has now gone up from $50 to $55. In addition to the Raspberry Pi 5 lineup, which got a price hike of anywhere between $5 and $25, the Raspberry Pi 4 4GB and 8GB versions also got a new price set at $60 and $85, respectively.

Raspberry Pi has raised the price of its Compute Module 5 16GB model as well, while other Raspberry Pi 4, Raspberry Pi 3+, and Raspberry Pi Zero models retained the original price tags, at least for now.
