ADATA's gaming brand XPG has launched its newest MARS 980 PCIe Gen5 SSD Series that will be bringing sequential performance speeds of up to 14,000MB/s and come in three versions, with up to 4TB of storage.

To be available in three different versions, the MARS 980 STORM, MARS 980 BLADE, and the MARS 980 PRO, these will be aimed at different user needs and scenarios. The MARS 980 SSD series from XPG will use the Silicon Motion SM2508 SSD controller paired up with 3D NAND and offer sequential read and write performance of up to 14,000MB/s and 13,000MB/s. The 4K Random read and write performance peaks at 2,000k and 1,650k IOPS.

The MARS 980 STORM will offer maximum performance with a hybrid cooling system, combining liquid and air cooling, along with a vertical, symmetrical dual-fan setup. Such a cooling system is said to offer up to 20 percent lower temperatures compared to traditional fanless heatsinks. According to XPG, this one is aimed at gamers, enthusiasts, and content creators.

It is also optimized for Playstation 5.
