
Nvidia releases Geforce 531.61 WHQL driver
Support for RTX 4070 and a couple of fixes
Nvidia has released its latest Geforce 531.61 WHQL driver, mainly to bring support for the launched Geforce RTX 4070 graphics card, but it also comes with a few fixes.

The NDA for Nvidia's new Geforce RTX 4070 has been lifted today, allowing fellow IT journalists to publish the first batch of reviews for those RTX 4070 graphics cards that will launch at $600 MSRP. The reviews for overclocked Geforce RTX 4070 graphics cards should show up tomorrow, which is also the date for global retail availability.

Just a few days before the official launch, scheduled for April 13th, the first Nvidia official performance numbers for the GeForce RTX 4070 have leaked online, showing it to be on par with the RTX 3080, at least with DLSS 3. It also appears that Nvidia will also launch an RTX 4070 Founders Edition (FE), which would make it the third FE graphics card in the RTX 40 series.

CD Projekt Red's upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 update, launching on April 11th, will bring the technology preview of the Ray Tracing: Overdrive Mode, one with path tracing, or as Nvidia now calls it, "full ray tracing". Nvidia has now released a few new screenshots and a trailer, showing some of those impressive new effects.

According to the latest info, Nvidia Geforce RTX 4070 could launch at $599.99, making it a good $200 less expensive than the RTX 4070 Ti.

It appears that the Nvidia machine is gearing up for several launches in the next few months, starting with the RTX 4070 which should launch on April 13th, the RTX 4060 Ti coming at end of May, and the 4050 in June.

Nvidia has released its latest GeForce Game Ready 531.29 WHQL driver, which brings optimizations for Atomic Heart and closed Beta of THE FINALS game with DLSS 3 support, as well as fixes some previous issues, including the higher CPU usage from NVIDIA Container when exiting a game.
