This is not the first time Xiaomi has included a secondary screen, as the Mi 11 Ultra had a smaller 1.1-inch AMOLED screen at the back. This time around, Xiaomi is doing a bigger screen that will take up the entire camera island.
Unfortunately, as Xiaomi only posted a teaser over at Weibo, it did not reveal any details regarding the size or the specifications of this secondary screen, but the teaser did show it will offer the ability to show different watch faces, notifications, and be used as a camera viewfinder.
Xiaomi has previously confirmed it will be skipping the 16 series and launching Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Pro, and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max later this month in China. The new series will be the first to use the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC. Unfortunately, we'll have to wait for more details as well as global availability information.
