OnePlus snubs US and Europe

OnePlus 13T dream crushed by limited release strategy

The more pocketable OnePlus 13T had Android fans buzzing with its flagship specs and huge battery packed into a 6.32-inch frame—until the company confirmed it's not coming to the US, Canada, or Europe.

Initially revealed for China, the 13T will make it to India under the name OnePlus 13S, but that’s where the expansion stops. A OnePlus rep told The Verge that the firm has “no plans” to bring the phone to Western markets.

For anyone holding out hope, OnePlus added: “We have noted the interest in the product from our users, and we will keep it in mind as we make product launch decisions going forward.”

Translation: don’t hold your breath.

The move isn't exactly shocking given the company’s recent pattern of keeping some of its more interesting kit regional. Trade uncertainties, US tariffs, and “about a million other factors” are all likely culprits.

Still, it stings. In a world where “small” phones are nearly extinct, a compact Android slab with a massive battery is exactly the sort of thing many were begging for. Instead, Western buyers get to read about it and fume while Samsung and Google play it safe with their own smallish-but-not-really options.
