Improves spotty 3G coverage
Google is to release a patch to fix its Nexus One phone
as users complain of spotty coverage on their 3G connections.
Apple had similar problems with its 3G iPhone when it
launched but most of the problems in the Google case appear to be related to
the phone itself. In a press release Google said that its engineers had
uncovered specific cases for which a software fix should improve connectivity
to 3G for some users.
Google is testing the software and it should be released
soon. We are expecting to see a software update by wireless
download during "the next week or so." However Google warned that the software upgrade may not
fix all Nexus One devices. It said that some punters were experiencing problems
as a result of being on the edge or outside of 3G coverage.
