Memory price increase

According to a new report, AMD will be raising its GPU prices by $20 for 8GB and $40 for 16GB versions due to memory pricing.

The report from Chinese Board Channels, spotted by Videocardz.com, suggests that AMD is talking to AIB partners about the price increase, which is in line with what has been coming recently directly from AMD AIB partners like PowerColor. The report suggests that AMD is looking to increase the price of 8GB SKUs by $20, and 16GB SKUs by $40, which could result in increase of around $40 to $85 for consumers.

AMD has officially announced a price increase for its graphics cards, with a significant increase expected this year. It is reported that several AMD graphics card brands have officially notified their channels to prepare inventory. The first wave of price increases will be $20 for 8 GB and $40 for 16 GB, with an estimated overall increase of around 300 RMB for 8 GB and 600 RMB for 16 GB by the end of the year. No new products will be launched throughout 2027. - Board Channels China

A previous report suggested a price increase of 10 percent by AMD, and AIB partners should follow to maintain their margins. The memory price increase is hitting the industry hard, and since GPU manufacturers package their GPU dies with memory and supply them to AIB partners as a kit, it does not come as a surprise that it translates to the end consumer price.
