Coming in 2026 alongside the new Steam Controller and Steam Frame VR headset, the Steam Machine promises to run the entire Steam library, including AAA titles, as it packs over six times the horsepower of the Steam Deck handheld.

The Steam Machine is basically a small form-factor PC packed in a 6-inch (160mm) cube with some rather neat features, decent hardware, and running on Steam OS. The exact dimensions are set at 152x162.4x156mm, and it weighs 2.6kg, which means it has some hefty heatsinks. The Steam Machine comes with a replaceable front cover and a neat LED strip that can show system status, download progress, and more.

The heart of the Steam Machine is AMD's semi-custom AMD Zen 4 6-core/12-thread CPU working at up to 4.8GHz and at 30W TDP, and a semi-custom RDNA 3-based GPU with 28 CUs and 8GB of GDDR6 memory, working at 2.45GHz "maximum sustained clock", and with a 110W TDP. The Steam Machine comes with 16GB of DDR5 memory, and it will be available with either a 512GB or a 2TB NVMe SSD.

According to these specifications, it appears that the Steam Machine is not based on an APU, but rather two semi-custom chips, which is not a bad thing, and it promises to bring 4K gaming at 60 FPS with AMD FSR upscaling.

The I/O part and connectivity include two USB-A 3.2 Gen1, two USB-A 2.0, and one USB-C Gen 2 ports, Gigabit Ethernet, DisplayPort 1.4, and HDMI 2.0 outputs, integrated 2x2 WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3, and a dedicated 2.4GHz Steam Controller wireless adapter. It also has an integrated power supply unit. It will run on SteamOS 3.

As said, the Steam Machine, alongside the new Steam Controller and Steam Frame VR headset, is coming in 2026. All we now need is the price, which has not been announced.
