Simply NUC becomes SNUC Systems

by on15 August 2025

Focus on AI-powered computing platforms built for the edge

Simply NUC has announced a shift in the company's focus, becoming SNUC Systems, and focusing on delivering AI-powered computing platforms purpose-built for the edge. This also means we won't see any more Simply NUC-built systems.

The move to building computing platforms for the edge does not really come as a surprise, considering that Intel teamed up with ASUS for its NUC lineup, leaving Simply NUC in a rather unfavorable position. Shifting the company to build tough computing platforms that focus on AI and edge is a logical move. SNUC Systems believes that AI belongs at the edge, in mission-critical sectors where speed, trust, and quick decisions are essential.

SNUC Systems has shifted its traditional compact NUC-like devices to become rugged, modular, and purpose-built for edge AI systems, targeting defense, manufacturing, smart infrastructure, autonomous systems, and beyond.

“Our rebrand to SNUC isn’t just cosmetic; it marks the turning point in how we show up in the AI era,” said David Kosloski, VP of Marketing at SNUC Systems. “As AI accelerates toward the edge, we’re building the platforms to make it possible, rugged, secure, and purpose-built for real-world deployment. This isn’t about chasing trends, it’s about meeting the moment with the technology that matters.”

SNUC Systems introduced its new line of extremeEDGE systems, featuring rugged, fanless designs, wide temperature tolerances, compact rack-mount options, all engineered for deployment in the real world, where the unpredictable is inevitable.

SNUC Systems published several posts about its future and AI on the edge, which outline both the targeted applications as well as its new systems.

While this is a good move for the company, we will surely miss Simply NUC's approach to delivering unique NUC and NUC-like systems.
