Asus’s design and innovation department showed the prototype of its view of modern computing. The Waveface concept looks pretty attractive and definitely adheres to this year’s Cebit’s motto “Connected Worlds“.
The large monitor you see on the photo below would serve as a central base, whereas the rest would connect to it for data synchronizing.

Perhaps the most exciting thing is the intent to use new materials that would allow a currently impossible level of flexibility. The following picture shows Asus’ Waveface laptop in its “laptop state” whereas the picture below shows the same laptop open by 180 degrees, which turns the device into a tablet PC. This reminded us of blobby objects, a technique used when modeling where a 3D object may change shape but retains its volume.

The final piece of the puzzle is the bracelet, which can be used as just regular jewelry (albeit a bit gladiatorish).

It all looks rather intriguing, but it's still just a concept. We always like innovative designs and we hope Asus comes up with an actual product sooner rather than later.
