Knock offs show true value of the the iPad
When you are peddling an overpriced keyboardless netbook
there is always the risk that someone will produce a knock off for much
cheaper.
Well now it seems that someone has made an iPad knock-off
in China for a fifth of the price of the orginal. The iPed is an Android-based copycat packaged like an
Apple product. It will cost you just $105.
It does have a few problems. It appears to be a lot slower and only
has 16 gigs of space, and runs on 128mb of RAM. It can't run anything
Applish and it only runs version 1.5 of Android. The iPed sports a
600-MHz RockChip processor and a screen
resolution of only 800 by 480 pixels.
The iPad's 1-GHz Apple A4 processor powers the
functionality displayed across its 1024-by-768-pixel screen, however it does
have a 9.7-inch display is a bit bigger than the iPed's seven-inch screen. The
iPed seems to only support Wireless B and Wireless G WiFi.
While it is not up to much it is still better value for
money than the iPad.
