Taiwan's lithium battery makers are expected to raise
prices soon because of increased demand.
A rise in price has been expected for some time. At the
end of 2009, Japan-based battery companies including Nippon Chemi-con and
Panasonic contacted customers regarding price hikes and Taiwanese distributors
have since made necessary price adjustments of their own.
However as demand for lithium battery continues to
outpace supply it looks like the big Taiwan-based out fits are boosting their
prices. Gold Peak Industries are expected to bill their customers
in the second quarter and we are likely to see further price increases across
the board,
