Now for something completely different
Hexus dug up a Microsoft blog post from the deep chasms of Google cache and
it turns out the outfit is rather confident about the successor to
Windows 7.
The bloke who wrote the post is part of Microsoft's Windows update team
and one of the first things he wanted to clear up is that the name of
the new OS hasn't been carved in stone just yet: "So how am I referring
to the next version of Windows without saying
that many words - well simple - Windows.next:) This is definitely not
the official version but a version that is becoming common along my
circle."
The blog goes on to say that the new version "will be something
completely different from what folks usually expect of Windows.
"To actually bring together dozens and dozens of
teams across Microsoft to come up with a vision for Windows.next is a
process that is surreal! The themes that have been floated truly
reflect what people have been looking for years and it will change the
way people think about PCs and the way they use them. It is the future
of PCs," said the anonymous blogger.
The post was removed by Microsoft, although we have no idea why, as it
really didn't reveal much of anything, other than the branding, or lack
thereof. You can check out the full post over at
Hexus.
