Steve wants to see you naked
The
Apple cult is taking big brother to a new level by installing a web cam on
its reassuringly expensive lap tops which is designed to spy on operators.
The big idea is that the camera will not be seen by
thieves and can be switched on if the laptop is nicked. The downside is that
it cant be seen by the owner either. This means that a virus writer
could hack there way into your computer and see what you are doing in front
of the screen.
OK, looking at an Apple user grinning smugly back at you is
not going to be good viewing, but there might be one or two that are
reasonably decent looking and a couple might not be wearing much. But it
is equally possible that the maker of the most proprietary software in the
world might be interested in seeing what is going on.
After all if
Steve can eyeball all his users he can tailor his products exactly. He will know if they are male, female, at work, ugly or
anything really. The question is would you trust Steve with your picture. Silly question really, most Mac fanboys have already sent them
his picture.
